I hope you are surviving the snow and freezing temperatures, my friends. Here in the Pacific Northwest it is the rainy season. Haha, isn't it always?

Today's recipe for a classic hamburger soup made in the Instant Pot uses bones, tasty, ingredients.

This pressure cooker Hamburger Soup is similar to a Vegetable Beef Soup, but information technology calls for hamburger instead of stew meat. It cooks faster considering the footing beef takes less fourth dimension.

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef (I like using 90% lean for this recipe)
  • i Onion, diced
  • iii lrg Carrots, chopped big (or a minor bag of baby carrots)
  • four med Potatoes, chopped large
  • three cups Beef Broth
  • 1 packet Onion Soup Mix
  • one Bay Leaf
  • teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder (or 3 cloves garlic, minced)
  • i teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • (i) fourteen oz can Diced Tomatoes (with juice)
  • (1) 6 oz tin Tomato Paste
  • 3 cups Frozen Mixed Vegetables (with corn, dark-green beans, etc.)
  1. Plow the pot on to the Sauté setting. Add the ground beef and the onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked. Don't break upward the meat completely, as some bigger chunks are nice in the soup.

  2. Add the chopped carrots and potatoes, beef goop, onion soup mix, bay foliage, Italian seasoning, garlic pulverization, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir.

  3. Dump the tin of diced tomatoes and love apple paste on top and practise not stir.

  4. Close the lid and set the steam release knob to the Sealing position.

  5. Abolish the Sauté setting. Printing the Pressure Cook/Manual button or dial and then the +/- button or dial to select seven minutes. Brand sure it is set to Loftier pressure. It will take several minutes to come to pressure.

  6. When the cooking wheel is finished, let the pot sit undisturbed for xv minutes (15 minute natural release). Then advisedly, in brusk bursts at starting time,  release the remaining steam manually, by turning the steam release knob to the Venting position.

  7. Stir the soup well to incorporate the tomato paste.

  8. And so stir in the frozen vegetables and let sit for a few minutes before serving. The veggies will cook in the heat of the hot soup.

  9. Serve hot with some dainty crusty breadstuff!
